okay, so this time I didn't technically FORGET I was on call. I just never got the memo that they swithced around the on-call schedule. So I was thinking I was on call next weekend, which is why I picked up an extra shift at job #2 today for some extra Christmas cash. So my shift goes from 7:00am-7:30pm. well... what do you do when it's 6:00pm, you're at job #2 and you get a phone call from job #1 saying you are being called in and you need to be there by 7:00pm. UH, OH! it's a predicament. luckily, someone graciously covered me for an hour so I could get out of job#2, swing through the Wendy's drive through for a spicy chicken sandwich and drive (probably breaking the speed limit) across town from hospital to hospital, only to have to change from blue scrubs to green ones once I got here. yikes, it could be a looooonnnng night. i just keep telling myself... time and a half. That's right. I may be a zombie, but i'm making time and a half. Oh... and my co-worker has a friend picking up some micky-d's, so I can at least enjoy an oreo mc flurry while i'm making my time and a half.
so far my on-call track record is not so hot. better luck next time.
