Idaho fun!

This weekend for labor day, we took a visit to Idaho to see Clark's family. We haven't been up to visit for a while, so it was a fun trip and good to spend time with everyone. Unfortunatly, i had to work on Sat. so we didn't get away until 9pm. It's about a 3 hour drive, so we didn't get there until after MN... then we stayed up and visited for a while. Of course, Aspen slept most of the way so when we got there she was wide awake and ready to play. So I think we made it to bed finally by about 2:30am. We had a pretty laid back visit, just hung out at home with the family and visiting some of our friends who live there. The twin falls county fair is held in Clark's hometown, FILER, each year and in the almost 7 years we've been married, we've never gone. So it was going on this weekend and i thought for sure, this was it... we were going to go to the fair, and then time ran out and we didn't make it. Next year for sure. By then Aspen will be big enough to ride the rides anyway... so we have that to look forward to! We did get out fishing (as pictured above) and as you can see... did pretty good! I can't take credit for catching any of the fish... I was the "netter"... you know, I would net the fish as they were reeling them in, it's a pretty important job. I thought it was going to be a relaxing day out in the boat, so I took Harry Potter to finally read and everytime I would read 2 paragraphs, someone would yell out "fish" and i'd have to be up on net duty. It was fun though. I have to admit that the majority of my fishing excursions with Clark have been pretty slow... he seems to always catch the big ones when I'm not with him... sounds like a big fish story to me! So anyhow, it was a fun action packed day out at Salmon damn today!

too bad we couldn't stay longer, Aspen loved Idaho... she is afterall 1/2 idahoan! And it was fun for her to get to spend time with gr & gr H who she doesn't get to see very often, and of course her cousins. I always enjoy getting out of the hustle and bustle of home and out where it's quiet. It really is so beautiful, especially this time of year when everything is full grown... and all the crops are starting to be harvested. I don't know that I'm a converted country-girl, but I certianly enjoy being able to get away, and believe it or not... Idaho is growing on me!

You are blogging like me now... try the photos again; I want to see the "catch of the day" and see how it compares to my Cabo fish. Glad you had a fun get away.
