today's photo.. at the park

Since we've all been sick-o's at our house, we're also sick-o of being stuck in the house. So today aspen and i got out for a little fresh air. we drove to park city to the outlet stores and i was so bummed that i forgot my camera... it was so beautiful. it snowed last night so the mountains were barely covered with their first blanket of snow. i can't believe it's already this time of year, fall just doesn't last long enough. after we got home, and aspen took her nap, we headed out again, but this time just to the park down the street from us to capture today's photo. i took along with me my "designing with photos" book by allison tyler jones. i love this book, i've had it for a few years and i still have soooo much to learn about photography. so i took it to read and then try it out. i took a photography class a million years ago when i was a sophomore in high school, and not that i remember anything from it, but i was also using an old manual slr camera. i have sooo much to learn about my new camera. so anyhow, i was playing around with my shutter speeds and f-stops to try and manipulate my photos a little. so i picked this one because it actually worked to get aspen in focus and the background blurry. i'm sure it's really not as dificult as i was making it. i also love the fall colors in the background and how you can almost feel how chilly it was just by looking at aspens rosy red nose.
