FIJI {day two}

Day two on Taveuni started out with a boat ride out to a local pearl farm. We were led out by two young local guys. The one guy dove right off the boat and brought up and oyster, opened it and showed us exactly how they make pearls... it was pretty fascinating (at least as much of it as I can understand). After our pearl tutorial, we got to hop out of the boat ourselves and snorkel around. It was so beautiful, and pleasantly warm.

After our snorkel trip, we drove about 45 minutes along a dirt road through the local villages until we reached our next destination... Bouma Falls.

Here are a few shots from along the drive through Taveuni

( i didn't get a picture of the actual Bouma Nursing Station, but hey... if I ever need a new job!)

Later that night, we were by surprise treated to a Fijian song, and dance show by the staff at the Garden Island Resort.
