Day FIVE started with a session at the FIJI Temple. I'm so glad to be able to say that I've been in the Fiji temple! The temple was built about 10 years ago and is so beautiful. I love that no matter where you are on the earth, the temple is the same, the work is the same, and the spirit is the same. And it was SUCH a beautiful day! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!
After the temple, we loaded up ALL our stuff into my parent's car, stopped by their favorite bakery (pictured above... scary) for the BEST ever Coconut buns. Seriously, I stopped feeling sorry for my parents after this discovery!!! They were like cinnamon rolls, only coconut instead of cinnamon. So yummy, and they cost like 40 cents. (40 cents Fijian is only 20 cents american). We drove a couple of hours along the Coral Coast until we came to our next destination, the Wellesley Resort.... Fiji's best kept secret... or so the sign says. Turns out, it's true!
My mom saw the sign for this resort one day while my parent's were driving across the island and thought it might be a nice place to stay while we were here. Without ever seeing this resort, she booked our rooms (which could have been a scary experience based on some of the places we drove past)... and turns out it was so perfect! Talk about Tropical Paradise!
We stayed in these little cabana rooms, ate breakfast, lunch and dinner poolside. In fact, the last night they set us up a candle light dinner down by the ocean side. These photos don't even do justice to how lush, isolated, intimate, and tropical it was here.
