i'm posting this pic because as I took this photo this morning, it was about 9:30 am and I realized it was a RED FLAG moment. Aspen never just hangs out in bed with me until 9:30 in the morning. She's usually up and at em by 7:30, dragging me out of bed for some cold cereal and to turn on noggin... (after which I escape back to bed for maybe another 30 minutes of sort of peace). So when i realized aspen had just been laying around for 2 hours i realized something was wrong. I knew she hadn't really been feeling well the last couple of days, then as i was listening to the today show, they were reading off the symptoms of swine flu:
fever, lethargy, cough, runny nose, sore throat, headache... as the list goes on i'm thinking about aspen and thinking check, check, check... she's got all the symptoms. now i'm not typically an over-reactor especially about stuff like this, but suddenly I'm thinking of us being on the front page of tomorrows newspapers as the first documented case of swine flu in utah, and picturing us in some isolation room in the hospital wearing plastic isolation gowns like they used to do for VRE patients. great I'm thinking. So I debate about whether or not to take her in since the reasonable side of my brain is telling me she's FINE. I decide that under the circumstances, and where she goes to daycare and gets exposed to who knows what, I should be responsible and get her checked out. ..
so turns out, not swine flu.... just viral pneumonia.
is that better?

That is so no fun! G has had diarrhea since Tuesday and the nurse on the help line the other day said something like what she has has been going around and lasts 3 to 5 days. Ugh! So we're on day four and I spoke to a different nurse today who said she should be seen. I also don't like to over-react to sick kids, but I think I'm justified on day 4. Hopefully miss Aspen gets better soon and your baby doesn't get it!
Oh no! I think that souns worse than the swine flu. I hope she gets better soon and that the rest of you can stay healthy!
