This is the song that kept running through my head as we drove home from idaho with our Christmas tree strapped to the top of our car! A station wagon none the less (well sort-of, a subaru wagon), and I am married to a man named Clark. there are many similarities between us and the Grizwalds. luckily, we didn't get caught driving under a semi.
Every other year we spend Thanksgiving with Clark's family in Idaho and it is one of their traditions to cut down a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. So every other year we end up with a fresh cut tree, for $5.00 even! Can't beat that. So we once again utilized the baby backpack and loaded Aspen up in her first set of snow clothes and headed to the hills. It probably took about 30 min of wandering around before we found our tree. Funny how you don't think a tree looks very big when it's in the forest next to all the really big trees. Not until you strap it to your car that you realize you probably exceeded your 12 foot limit.... oops! When we got home, we probably chopped about 4 feet off to get it to fit in our house... ha ha. It's a fun tradition and i'm glad that every other year we can chop down our own tree. Here are some pics of the adventure so you can really feel like you were there. I'll post pics of the tree once we get it all lit and decorated!

Katie,
I love going and cutting down your own tree...such a fun tradition. Too bad we don't do that anymore. Maybe we'll have to start it up again with Cam and I. Sounds like you had a good time up in Idaho. See ya at work!
Clark... buy yourself something nice (wink wink) real nice....
