provo 1/2 marathon!

This race reminded me of when i used to be in school and have to take tests. i was usually pretty good about studying, but I always walked away from completing the test thinking to mysef "if I had studied just a little more, i probably would have done a lot better". That's how i felt today... I finished which is always the goal for me, but in my mind i'm thinking "probably if I had trained more I would have done better". funny how that works. I'm not sure exactly what my finish time was, the time clock said 2:07, but see i sort of missed the start. Me and my friend, Andrea, had to use the potty at the starting line and the potties were quite a ways away from the starting line. Andrea has run this race a number of times and she kept saying we had plenty of time because this race never starts on time. We were the last ones in the potty line and when we came out, and as we were making our way back to the starting line, we quickly realized that there wasn't anyone else there anymore... uh, oh! I don't know how long ago the race really started... ooops! i'm thinking probably 10 minutes or so. So I really think my time was 1:57, which I feel better about. The race was absolutly beautiful! It ran down Provo canyon along the river, it was cool and the scenery was amazing. we even ran past bridal veil falls (i think). I felt pretty good until mile 10, then I was ready to be done. (this was the point when i started regretting the mornings I slept in rather than getting out of bed to run). but alas, i made it to the finish line and the best part was that clark and aspen drove down to see me come in! It was so fun to see them there cheering me on. And now the best part of it all is that it's OVER!!!!! and I can sleep in guiltlessly.

Do those races ever feel good? I'm sure you didn't even train much and look how awesome you did! Way to go! I'll get my leg better one of these days and do one with you!
