Change is in the air
The leaves aren't the only thing changing this season... The Hymas fam once agin is picking up their boots and moving, this time to more familiar soil. Clark has taken a job back in SLC... so it's home again home again for us! We've been contemplating and negotiating the details of this change for a couple of months now, so it doesn't feel as sudden to us as it has to everyone else we've told since we couldn't really announce to the world we were moving until it was a done deal and Clark was giving his 2 week notice. But those 2 weeks have since come and gone, Clark had his last day at work, I had my last day at work (and was spoiled by a yummy going away lunch from some of the best in Kansas City BBQ... Jack Stack!), Aspen had her last day at her Kindergarten and was able to say goodbye to all her close friends with a big going away bash at a big bounce house party place. The kids had a blast and it was a fun way to say goodbye to all those cute kids she's become such good friends with! I really think the party helped soften the blow for Aspen because she was NOT very happy when we told her we were moving. She was excited to be back with cousins, and grandma's and grandpa's but she didn't want to leave KC... her solution was to be on a 2 week rotating schedule between SLC and KC. However, now that we're here in SL she's been having so much fun with cousins and gr & gr that she informed us she's ok with staying here forever. I think Clark and I have really had such mixed feelings about the move and it honestly was one of the hardest decisions we've had to make. We were very happy and content with where we were at with the exception of Clark's job, so when this great opportunity came up it was really hard to pass it up but at the same time really hard to imagine that our time in KC was really going to be over. We knew a year ago going into it that it most likely wasn't going to be a long term move, we were thinking 3-5 years, so this change in plans came a little sooner than we expected which made it an even harder decision. It would have been easy to leave if we had known all along we were only going to be there for a year, we wouldn't have let ourselves get attached. Instead we jumped in feet first and really made some great friends who we will miss TONS! So it's with lots of mixed feelings that we are packing up boxes again, closing the door on this chapter and seeing what lies beyond the next. Life has yet to prove boring for the Hymasfam! And of course, what would a pregnancy be for me without a huge life altering change? As if adding another little monkey to the mix isn't enough shake-up in our life! So with a heavy heart and a few sniffles we say goodbye to KC and the amazing friends who have become like family to us... and with lots of axious anticipation for what lies ahead that we are headed home, and SO excited to be close to our family and friends here in SLC!
