My space

I have to admit, I'm feeling guilty. Clark has been refinishing a hardwood floor, and it's a HUGE project. He's there after work every night, and his entire weekends are spent out there, we haven't seen much of him around the house. So why am I feeling guilty? Because this is what I've been doing... scrapbooking, and watching endless episodes of Gilmore Girls (I'm on season five, I know what you're thinking... get a life), and making small batches of toll house pre-made cookies. However, I'm trying to feel a little justified, this is my third day off and for the previous two days I've had a major spring cleaning bug going on. Clark calls it "buzzing", when I start cleaning and can't make myself stop. It started with the really gross refrigerator, then moved on to the cabinets, the floors, the bathrooms. I realized that we have lived in our house for almost a year already, and I haven't really done any major clean outs since we've moved in... it was time for things to go. My recycle can is overflowing with card board boxes... I have no idea why we needed to have so many extra shoe boxes hanging around. Also, the trunk of my car is loaded down with clothes to take to the DI. So, I'm feeling maybe not so guilty about indulging myself in scrapbooking, diet coke, and chocolate. Plus I ran 8 miles at 5am today.

This month in the heidi swapp big picture scrapbooking class, we're thinking about things we're grateful for, we started by making a list of all the things we could think of we are thankful for and then narrowing it down to a few things that have really defined who we are. When I really stopped to think about it, I realized how grateful I am for my life RIGHT NOW. It seems like ever since we've been married, we've been working towards whatever the next big step was... graduation, jobs, moving from apt to apt. and finally a house. I really love having our house and that it feels like home. I love the balance in my life working 2 days a week and spending the rest of the time on mommy duty. I love my job, I'm grateful for my health. I guess I just realized that for the first time, that I can really remember, I'm so happy and content with my life right now. I'm grateful for that... and hope i'm not going to jinx myself by saying all this. I know how fast things can change, I guess even more reason to be grateful for today.

p.s.
Where's waldo, I mean...aspen?

8 miles @ 5am? Are you sure you don't mean 5 snooze buttons @ 8am?
