Five is FABULOUS!

Today was Aspen's 5th birthday party! Her actual birthday isn't until Tuesday, but we celebrated today with 9 of her little friends. We had a blast! This was her first "real" birthday party that she was able to invite friends to.. (although we totally wished we could have had cousins, aunts and grandmas here today too!) The party was a huge success... complete with necklace making, glitter toes, fancy tea party, presents and yummy yummy strawberry cupcakes.

These girls were having so much fun! This was just the beginning while they were watching Princess and the Frog waiting for all the girls to arrive. I love how hard they were laughing!

making fun foam flower necklaces.

Glitter TOES!!

yummy lunch of heart shaped bp&j sandwiches, fruit, chips, and strawberry lemonade.
Aspen and Becca... crazy good buddies!

The opening presents portion of the event was the only point at which I lost control. They were so excited over all the gifts, it was crazy and fun. For the past few weeks, any time anyone asked Aspen what she wanted for her birthday she replied "chalk and bubbles".... to say the least we are not going to be running out of chalk or bubbles for a long time! She got lots of fun, frilly, girly things.

The best part was that for the hour following the party, Aspen was quietly playing with all her new toys which allowed me an hour to pass out... that party wore me out. i'm sure it had nothing to do with the midnight run to walmart last night to pick up a few last minute things for party favors...It was all totally worth it!
