I love New York!

So this past week Clark was invited along with a couple other guys from his work to attend and speak at a workforce planning conference in NYC. So we decided to make the most of the opportunity! We flew Clark's mom out to stay with the kids and I hopped on a flight to meet up with Clark in NYC for the weekend! We sort of justified it by calling it our 10 year anniversary trip... I know, we got married in Feb. but we were engaged in Oct.... so it totally counts!

We had a great time (how can you not?) With only being there for 2 1/2 days, there is so much to do and see in NYC that we did sort of the "scratch the surface" version. On Friday we did some shopping on times square and then got some cheesecake from Roxy deli (of course) to eat while we stood in the TKTS line for an hour 1/2 to wait for broadway tickets. That night we ended up seeing "In the Heights" great show! We give it 5 stars for sure. It was starring Jordin Sparks (from American Idol), and had a lot of dancing SYTYCD styles... like hip hop, and latin dancing. A lot of fun!

Since Saturday was our only full day there, we decided to make the most of the city by doing one of those hop-on/hop-off bus tours where you ride around on top of the bus. It was great, we covered the whole city and could get off almost anywhere and then get right back on the next bus! It was fun, aside from it being windy and freezing cold! One of our stops was at the South st. Seaport where we got off, had an amazing seafood lunch, and found another TKTS booth with a MUCH smaller line. So we only had to stand in line for about 15 minutes, and were able to get tickets for "Memphis". Another great show. It's hard to say which show I liked better, they both were very different, but spectacular show. This show was about the beginnings of Rock and Roll in the 50's in the south.

So we had a great trip... and even if it was short I think we couldn't have afforded to stay another minute! Unfortunately, NYC isn't a "cheap" vacation! It's not like you can sit all day by the beach or anything, it's go go go and everything costs money! Such is life. It was worth it!

Wow! The trip looks great! I love NYC. So fun to go back in my mind to the first time I went there with you, Heidi and LaRane for your 21st birthday! Hey, that was 10 years ago too! Everything looked newer: Roxys and Magnolia Bakery -- that's a huge makeover (glad we got to visit the original!). I'm so happy you two got to do it together! Great memories!
